National No Smoking Day

This year, for national No Smoking Day, we want to let you know why we think it is extremely important to use our platform to help raise awareness. No Smoking Day dates back to 1984 and is celebrated on the second Wednesday of March in the U.K; research conducted by GfK NOP following the 2009 campaign found that 1 in 10 smokers quit on No Smoking Day. 

With smoking being a primary cause of cancer and other health-related illnesses, it is imperative for us at Ecigwizard to support smokers in making the big switch to vaping.

40% of cancers can be prevented by minimising tobacco, and heavier smokers in particular are at higher risk of contracting cancers of the lung, trachea and bronchus. Within just 9 months of giving up smoking, symptoms such as shortness of breath and coughing decrease along with the risk of cancer. 

No Smoking Day also highlights the effects of passive smoking which is just as dangerous as actively smoking; increasing the risk of lung cancer, heart disease and health-related illness. Pregnant women who are exposed to cigarette smoke are at higher risk of experiencing a premature birth.

Quitting is not as easy as it seems, but fortunately vaping has been backed by multiple studies in helping smokers to give up tobacco for good; between 2019 and 2020, Public Health England found that using a vaping product as part of a quit attempt in local stop smoking services had some of the highest quit success rates – between 59.7% and 74%. Vaping has also been publicly declared 95% safer than smoking by Public Health England.
