Have Your Say! Tobacco and Vapes Bill 2026

With the upcoming Tobacco and Vapes Bill about to take effect, the government want to hear your opinion on the upcoming changes. Read on for more about the government`s consultation and the proposed changes that will begin to come into effect later this year.

On the 29th of April the UK government passed the tobacco and vapes act, a bill restricting the marketing, packaging, and sale of tobacco and vape products. This bill is also set to instate an e-liquid tax of 22p per millimeter of e-liquid. For more detailed information check out our blog “Vape Liquid Tax 2026”. The new bill is also set to:

• Ban smoking and vaping for anyone born after January 1st 2009.

• A mandatory retail licensing scheme will be introduced, to cut down on the sale of fake and illegal vapes.

• Smoking and vaping may be banned in some outdoor spaces like playgrounds and hospital grounds.

The UK government has launched a consultation period, asking members of the public and vape retailers what they think of some of the proposed changes, from how vapes should be packaged to whether flavours should be restricted or not. Vapers need to have their voices heard, in order to help the government launch a successful bill and keep vaping accessible to all the ex-smokers who rely upon it.

You can answer the questions in as much detail as you would like, either simply checking the extent to which you agree or disagree with a proposal or (optionally) writing some more about why you agree/ disagree. You are also able to skip any sections that you may not have an opinion on.

Have your voice heard! This consultation runs until the 2nd of October 2026 so you still have plenty of time. Spend as much or little time on it as you want, just make sure you give your honest opinions on the proposed changes and help keep vaping safe and accessible to those who need it.
