MTL vaping
Beginner vapers may experience some confusion when it comes to understanding the differences between styles of vaping, and which may be best for them. Never fear, our comprehensive guide is here to tell you all about various vaping styles, helping you make an informed decision. It is important to note that not all vape kits are compatible with all styles of vaping, so it is wise to choose your kit based on the style(s) you plan to do.
Features of MTL vaping:
- Produces smaller amounts of vapor and smell, a discreet option.
- Compatible with more basic vape kit models.
- Can handle e-liquids with high nicotine contents.
- Tanks require less e-liquid.
- MTL vaping uses less battery power than other styles.
DTL vaping
DTL or direct to lung vaping is more popular among seasoned vapers. This style involves inhaling the vapour directly into the lungs, breathing in from the vape and then exhaling all at once.
Features of DTL vaping:
- Produces large amounts of vapour.
- Compatible with Sub Ohm devices and needs a low resistance coil.
- Stronger flavour and throat hit.
- Tanks require more liquid.
- DTL may work best using eliquids with a higher VG content.(70% or more).
- Lower nicotine levels may also be best, as higher concentrations are quite harsh directly on the lungs
RDL Vaping
RDL, restricted direct to lung vaping, is best described as a combination of the above two styles. With this technique you still inhale in the same way as DTL, but you don't take a full breath. Then exhale slowly to release the vapor.
Features of RDL vaping:
- More vapour than a MTL draw, due to it being looser.
- Tighter than DTL, which enhances flavour.
- Better throat hit than DTL.
- You can vape using higher nicotine contents, without it being too harsh.
- More e-liquid consumption than MTL vaping, but less than DTL.
- Battery lasts longer than DTL but not as long as MTL.
Which vaping style to choose?
You can pick your vaping style based on your own personal preferences and requirements when it comes to vaping. We usually recommend that beginners start with MTL, as you can utilise e-liquid with higher nicotine content, satisfying cravings more effectively. However, if you have a bit of vaping experience, you can begin to play around with different styles to find the one that suits you best.
